Why We Sometimes Selectivily Source Offshore

ChurchPlaza was created 20 years ago with a single focused intent; to provide America's churches with the highest quality products and services at the best possible value and with trust worthy guarantees and world class service. We have been honored to have served more than 100,000 churches and to have been endorsed and recommended by 43 national denominations, fellowships and ministries and/or their publishing houses along the way.

For most of our 20 years of service we have almost exclusively sourced products manufactured in the United States. In recent years, we have become aware of opportunities to source some quality products internationally in ways that would provide better value to our church customers. We are not alone in this discovery and today, a wide range of products that were once exclusively sourced in the United States come from international providers. It's even becoming difficult to define what in fact, "made in America" means.

One thing is certain... American business and manufacturers are now part of a world business community that has changed radically over the past 10 years…….and will continue to do so. At ChurchPlaza we have addressed this issue by pledging to work only with ethical and legitimate organizations that recognize, advocate and evidence support for the well being of their work force AND produce the highest quality products.

In following this path we have been unfairly and inaccurately criticized by some. We would like to set the record straight on the harshest of these criticisms.

It has been said that ChurchPlaza is un-American
We favor American manufacturers UNLESS we can provide a better product and value for our churches by sourcing elsewhere. Additionally, ChurchPlaza's founder and CEO is a former Marine Officer and decorated combat veteran. Three of his children are currently active duty military pilots. One has served in the middle- east, one is there now and the third pilots search and rescue missions for the Coast Guard. We are VERY pro-American.

It has been said that ChurchPlaza encourages the mistreatment of foreign workers
We only work directly with a foreign company when there is documented compliance with all foreign and US governmental standards of humanitarian conditions, including strict child labor laws AND we have personally visited the factory and verified the facts.

It has been said that the quality of foreign made products is substandard
ChurchPlaza products are simply the highest quality available anywhere and we will only use an offshore manufacturer when the quality and consistency exceeds that which we can obtain domestically.

We respect the right of anyone to voice their objection to American's purchasing ANY product not domestically manufactured. We simply believe it is an unrealistic standard to expect or even define in today's world economy. It also conflicts with ChurchPlaza's primary responsibility to serve the best interest of the local church.
